Patriotic Me

I was feeling a little patriotic today.  With the 4th of July coming on Wednesday, I decided to create a couple of Independence Day cards.  Hope you like them!

I used a Simply B Stamp for this first card.  I just love these stamps!  Isn't she adorable with her little skullie skirt?  =D  Papers are from We R Memory Keepers (including the sentiment).  The rose is from Wild Orchids.

Challenges:
The Pink Elephant: Sketch
Crafty Sentiment: Red, White and Blue
Scrap Creations: 4th of July
Paper Pretties: Red, White and Blue
Cute Card Thursday: Patriotic
Outlawz Friday Copic/Promarker Party Challenge: Where in the World: Where You Live Now

This second card I made with images from Happileigh Scrappin'.  The papers are, again, from We R Memory Keepers.  Flowers and jewels from my stash.  Colored with Copics, with Stickles added to the stars and hearts.

Challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday: Sketch
Paper Pretties Monday: Independence Day
Sweet Stamps: Patriotic or Summer
The Sisterhood of Crafters: Seeing Stars
Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge Party: Colors of Your Country

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you again soon!

Sassy in the City Part 4

Hey y'all!  Welcome to the 4th and final round of the Sassy in the City relay.  Hasn't this been fun?!  =D  I've so enjoyed seeing all the creations our lovely crafters have come up with.  Well, now that it's time for the last challenge, I bet you can guess what the final image is.  That's right...it's Carrie!  For the Carrie challenge, we want to see projects inspired by New York or Paris, the two places where Carrie has lived.  I decided to go with Paris since I have so many French sentiments I have yet to use.  =D

I decided to go with a side step card, to make it look like Carrie was in a park or field with the Eiffel Tower in the distance behind her.  My sentiment is from Create with TLC, and it means "the best is yet to come".  I'm thinking this would be a fun card for my niece, who is headed off to college this fall.

Are you ready to tackle our Paris/New York challenge?  If you're eligible, you should have your image, so get craftin'! =D

Just a little reminder of the rules and prizes:

You have approximately two days to complete this final challenge. The deadline for the final challenge has actually be extended by 2 hours, so you have until 10pm EDT on 7/2/12.

Now for the prizes. Besides getting the Sassy in the City images free, there will be a random winner drawn for each challenge for two Sassy Studio Design images of their choice.  For the people who are able to make it all the way through the fourth challenge...the Grand Prize is FOUR images from the upcoming July release before they hit the SSD store!  Plus, they will win the opportunity to be our guest new release designer and have a creation they made with one of the July release images featured on the Sassy Studio Designs blog on release day!!

Remember, you have until 10pm EDT on 7/2/12 to complete your Paris/New York Carrie project and upload it to the Sassy Studios Design blog.

Missed your chance to play along? Well, we've got good news.  You could STILL win, by commenting on the challenges! One random comment from each of the challenge posts on the SSD blog will win an SSD image. How easy is that?!?  Plus, all 4 Sassy in the City images will be available Saturday in the store.  Yay! Just remember, the 4th round is open only to those who have participated in the relay.  Creations using purchased Carries will not be eligible.

Keep in mind we have lots of contests, trivia, and even a couple of freebies over at the Sassy Studio Designs page on Paper Craft Planet.  Hope to see you there!

Challenges:
Do You Stack Up?: Blue Skies and Clouds
Card Crafter's Circle: Construction Cards
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards: Anything Goes as long as it is a Card

DTBST # 131

Happy Thursday!  Y'all ready for the new Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge?  It's the last Thursday of the month, which means it's time for a winter holiday challenge.  This week the theme is:

Sparkle and Snow

I used the beautiful Victorian Holiday Sassy, available in the store.  I just LOVE that cape.  I'm a huge cape fan.  I'm learning how to sew, just so I can make myself a cape. LOL  It's kind of hard to see, but I've got a couple of Martha Stewart snowflake punches (a single snowflake and a border of snowflakes) on the card.  They were punched out of silver paper, then covered with Stickles.  It was hard to take a picture of them...but trust me, it's super sparkly in real life. =D  The papers are from DCWV.  Image colored with Copics.

Looking for more inspiration? Head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT created.  I do hope you'll play along with us this week!  Remember, you don't need to use a SSD image to enter...but if you do, you can enter TWICE!  The details on how to do that are on the challenge blog, so don't forget to check it out.  With all the fabulous new images being released, who wouldn't want as many chances to win as possible?  =D

Don't forget...the SSD Paper Craft Planet group has hit 700 members, so we're having a huge celebration over in the PCP group.  Lots of contests and fun.  You won't want to miss out...head over right now!  =D

Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you soon!

Challenges:
The Sweet Stop: Sketch

Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges: 3 Things (Used 3 single snowflake punches)
Hooked on Craft Challenges: All That Glitters

Sassy in the City Part 3

Welcome to the next round in the Sassy in the City Relay, Round 3!  Are you having fun so far?  Well, the fun has just begun!  Meet Miranda Sassy...

Isn't she a cutie?!?  I love that dress.  It feels so summer-y. Now, you might notice my card looks kind of....bare.  Well, that was (kind of) on purpose!  The theme for this round is NO NONSENSE...we want to see Clean And Simple projects.  I don't know about you, but I have SUCH a hard time with CAS cards!  They never feel done for me.  I actually had more gems on here, and ended up taking them off to avoid getting too busy.  I ended up drawing the stitching lines around the circle just to try to give it a little more...something. LOL

Are you ready to tackle the CAS challenge?  If you're eligible, you should have your images, so get craftin'!

Just a little reminder of the rules and prizes:

You have approximately two days to complete each challenge.  Challenges go live at midnight EDT and close at 10pm EDT two days later. Those that complete challenge #3 will receive image #4 via email.  There will be a winner for each of these challenges, and then a special Grand Prize winner for challenge #4.

Remember, you have until 10pm EDT on 6/29/12 to complete your Miranda CAS project and upload it to the Sassy Studios Design blog.

Missed your chance to play along? Well, we've got good news.  You could STILL win, by commenting on the challenges! One random comment from each of the challenge posts on the SSD blog will win an SSD image. How easy is that?!?

Keep in mind we have lots of contests, trivia, and even a couple of freebies over at the Sassy Studio Designs page on Paper Craft Planet.  Hope to see you there!

Digistamps 4 Joy Challenge # 44 - Mid-Challenge Reminder

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I'm here to let you know you still have one week to enter Digistamps 4 Joy Challenge #44!  Need a reminder of the theme?  It's:

Happy Anniversary, June Bride of Yesteryear!

What does that mean, you ask?  Well, we want to see vintage Happy Anniversary cards.  Now for the important question...what could you WIN?  Well, a randomly picked entry will win (3) images of your choice from the Digistamps 4 Joy store. (There have been so many awesome new releases lately...I just know there is something for EVERYONE in the store.)  Plus, you'll get a badge.  There will be (2) Runners Up, who will also win a badge.  However, IF you use a Digistamps 4 Joy image, you will also be entered for a second prize...the DT Choice Award!  With that you will win a $10 gift voucher to the store and a badge.  That's right, by using a Digistamps 4 Joy image you are entered to win the randomly picked prize AND the DT Choice Award.  How can you resist?

Since it's the mid-week reminder, I get to show off my creation (along with the rest of Team A).

I used the fabulous Bells & Doves, available here.  For once, I did NOT use Copics to color my image!  (I know, shocking, right?)  I decided my colored pencils and Gamsol fit the vintage theme more, since the colors are softer.  However, I did use a Spica marker in gold to color the bell.  I edged all the papers with Colorbox chalk ink in Chestnut Roan, and I aged the lace with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  I added a bunch of embellishments because I was planning on entering this card into Sugar Creek Hollow's More is Better challenge. However, I forgot that I was doing the mid-challenge reminder, so I ended up missing the deadline.  Whoops!  Oh well, I'm still happy with how it turned out.  =D

Looking for more inspiration?  Head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog to check out the rest of Team A's creations.  Remember, you do not have to use a Digistamps 4 Joy image to participate in the challenge.  However, if you do...your project will also be entered for a seperate prize, the DT Choice award!  I hope to see you playing along!

On a sad note, this will be my last post as part of the Digistamps 4 Joy DT.  Due to personal reasons I've had to resign.  I am extremely thankful to the whole DS4J team, especially Jen and Margy, for all the support and fun I've had throughout my tenure on the DT.  I will miss all of them dearly, but hopefully will still be seeing them around Blogland.

Thanks for stopping by!

Challenges:
Sugar Creek Hollow: Circles (I hope my circle metal embellies are enough.  If not, feel free to remove my entry!)
Card Crafter's Circle: Weddings

Now, the theme for this round is Blingity Bling Bling!  Can you guess what that means?  That's right...we want to see lots of bling. LOL!  I colored Samantha with Copics and a gold Spica marker (for her earrings and bracelet.  Then I went over my red coloring with red Stickles to add some extra sparkle.  I thought this Create with TLC sentiment was just MADE for Samantha!

Just a little reminder of the rules and prizes:

Final Fling

Hello and happy Saturday!! Welcome to the 4th and final Sassy Studio Designs mini-release for the month of June!  I hope you have enjoyed all of our celebrations this month.  You should have arrived here from Debbie's blog.  (Wasn't her card AMAZING!?)  If you didn't, head on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog to start the hop at the beginning.

Today we are releasing two images: Bachelorette Sassy and Final Fling Sassy.  With those names...I bet you can guess the theme.  =D  That's right....bachelorette parties!  Meet Final Fling Sassy:

This is a page from my bachelorette party album.  Unfortunately, my maid of honor got a little cut off (wish I had known to bend farther down!), but other than that it was a pretty good picture.  Three of my best friends and I went to a local bar for my party.  Many good times were had...but one of my favorites was the "suck for a buck".  My MoH created a bouquet of suckers for me, then had me go around the bar offering a "suck for a buck"...(a sucker for a dollar).  Let me tell you...I was VERY embarrassed saying that phrase.  I still blush even thinking about it.  I met a lot of fun and crazy people that night, including one gentleman who bought 20 suckers!  LOL  Here's me selling suckers to a birthday boy and his wife.  =D

Ok, ready to win these two fabulous images??  Time to continue on the hop! Don't forget, for a chance to win the images you want to leave some love on all the stops on the hop.  Also, you must tell your favorite bachelorette memory (or what you're looking forward to) on the Sassy Studio Designs post to be entered to win. Your next stop is Kim...be prepared for some fabulous work! I've listed the blog hop in order below, in case you get lost along the way.  Have fun!  Don't forget our Sassy in the City Relay starts tomorrow in our Paper Craft Planet group!  There are some *awesome* images to play with, inspired by the Sex in the City gals.  Hope to see you there!

Digi Doodle Shop #113

**Post #2 for the day.  For my Dare to Be Sassy Thursday post, please scroll down.**

Good morning, and happy Thursday!  It's time for the newest Digi Doodle Shop challenge.  Woot woot!  This week our theme is:

Farmyard or Zoo

Here is my creation:

I used the adorable Hoot Owl, available in the Birds section of the store.  I colored the image with Copics, then used Crystal Effects on the eyes to make them shiny.  I even found an adorable little hoot owl charm at JoAnn Fabrics.  Here's a closeup.

I usually have trouble with guy cards, but I think this would make a perfect little birthday card or thinking of you card for one of my guy friends.

Feeling inspired?  Want to play along?  Head over to the  Digi Doodle Shop challenge blog for even more inspiration from the other DT members.

Remember, you don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop stamp, but if you do your entry will count twice.  Also, you can enter as many times as you want...as long as it's with a new card/project each time.

Thanks for stopping by, and we'll see you again soon!

Fun in the Sun

Good morning, and happy Thursday, everyone!  It's time for the newest Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge.  Yay!  This week the theme is...

Fun in the Sun - Monochromatic Yellow

Now, I'll be the first to tell you that yellow is NOT my favorite color.  Mostly because I'm so pale...if I wear yellow I look jaundiced.  So, I tell myself that I don't like it and then I'm not sorry that I can't wear it.  =D  Amazing how that works.

Anyway, as much as I hate to admit it, I had a blast with this challenge!  My card ended up reminding me of warm sunny days, hanging out at the lake with my friends...and that old song "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini."  (It's been stuck in my head for days.  Now it can be stuck in yours.  You're welcome.  LOL!)  =D

I've used one of Sassy Studio Designs' newest images...Polka Dot Bikini Sassy, available in the store.  I colored her with Copics, then added a touch of gold Stickles (on the beach ball top and the earring) and Crystal Effects on they eyes, because I love shiny eyes. =D  Roses and gems are from my stash.  Ribbon is from JoAnn Crafts.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Don't forget...SSD is three years old this month, so they'll be having mini releases every Saturday all month long.  These new images are so fab... you won't want to miss a single one!  Also, the SSD Paper Craft Planet group will be hitting 700 members, so we'll be having a huge celebration for that, too.  Keep an eye on the blogPCP page and/or Facebook page to find out details!

Good morning, all, and happy Thursday!  I just love Thursdays, especially because it's time for the newest Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs!  This week we have...

a sketch!

Here it is...isn't it fabulous??

And here's my card:

I used the fabulous My Fair Lady, available at the Sassy Studio Designs shop.  I just adore Audrey, and My Fair Lady is one of my favorite musical movies of all time.  The rain in Spain...  =D  I thought this Create with TLC sentiment fit just perfectly with the card.

DDS#111

*This is post #2 for the day.  Please scroll down for my Dare to Be Sassy Thursday post.*

Well, hello again!  So happy to see you twice in one day.  =D  This post is to bring you the newest challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop.  This week we want to see Male cards.

With Father's Day coming up soon here in the States, I wanted to make sure I got a head start.  I've used the adorable Cousin Jethro, one of the Body Tots found in the Collectibles section of the store.  I wanted to keep this one kind of simple, so I just used a few metal beads and a ribbon for embellishments.  The image was colored with Copics, and all papers were edged with chalk ink in Chestnut Roan by Colorbox.

Well, now you've seen my card, hop on over to the Digi Doodle Shop challenge blog to check out the amazing projects by the rest of the DT.

Remember, you don't have to use a Digi Doodle Shop stamp, but if you do your entry will count twice.  Also, you can enter as many times as you want...as long as it's with a new card/project each time.

DTBST # 128

Good morning, all, and happy Thursday!  Once again, I'm hoping this post goes up on time...please cooperate with me Blogger!  =D

Well, I'm here to bring you the newest Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge!  This week, we want to see a splash of something wet (Crystal Effects, Liquid Pearls, Stickles, etc.).  Should be easy enough, right?  Who doesn't like shiny stuff?

Now, if you know me, you KNOW how much I love my Stickles.  I used Wicked Honey, available at the store, and colored her with Copics.  The ribbon is from Michaels, the sentiment is a stamp from Close to My Heart. The spider paper is from my stash.  I know I got it at Archiver's, but I can't remember the company.  If anyone just has to know, leave me a comment with your email and I'll try to look it up.  =D  Then I used (a TON) of my new purple Stickles.  I just love all the glitter!! =D  I'm not one for the traditional orange and black Halloween cards...I tend to use purple instead.  LOL

DS4J Challenge #43

Hello, my lovelies!  I hope you are all having a fabulous Wednesday!  As I'm currently off on holiday, I'm having a TERRIFIC day!  =D  (This post was scheduled ahead of time...I sure hope Blogger cooperated and posted it at the right time!  If not...I apologize.)

Well, it's time to bring you the newest Digistamps 4 Joy challenge.  This fortnight we want to see....June Brides.  However, there is one stipulation.  We want to see anything but a card.  What does that leave, you might ask?  Well, there are tons of possibilities!  Gift tags, wall hangings, thank you tags, place cards, lanterns...all kinds of things.

Here's my project:

I used the lovely Bedazzled Bride image, available in the Weddings section of the shop.  I've created a little thank you gift bag for wedding guests.  The pretty little bags (from Michael's Craft Stores) are filled with yummy little Dove chocolate caramels.  Mmmm...my favorite. LOL  Each tag is about 2" wide.  They were very quick to make...I could easily see making a bunch of these for wedding gifts, or possibly just for the bridal party from the bride and groom. You can't really see it in the picture, but the veil was covered with Stickles, so it's quite sparkly.  I actually ended up giving two of my samples to a couple who recently got married.  (DH and I were in the wedding, so it was a way to thank them for inviting us to be involved in their big day.)  The couple liked their gifts very much.  =D

Looking for more inspiration?  Head on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy challenge blog to check out the rest of the DT's creations.  Remember, you do not have to use a Digistamps 4 Joy image to participate in the challenge.  However, if you do...your project will also be entered for a seperate prize, the DT Choice award!  I hope to see you playing along!  I'll be back tomorrow with some more challenges, and then later this weekend with some photos from my holiday.  See you then!
